Juan's practice covers all aspects of planning and infrastructure, environmental law (including environmental impact assessment, the Habitats Directive, nuisance, contaminated land, waste and water), judicial review, regulatory law, licensing and gaming, property and housing (including rating, possession claims, easements and restrictive covenants), compulsory purchase, compensation and land valuation.
Appearing in the higher courts and public inquiries as well as in the magistrates' court and crown court, Juan regularly acts on behalf of developers, high profile promoters, interested parties and local authorities.
His practice frequently involves other areas and in particular, commercial and contractual disputes relating to land and property, food and hygiene (commercial premises), highways and rights of way, traveller matters, and confiscation under POCA.
Juan also advises extensively on ombudsman complaints and related complaint and discliplinary proceedings.
