SIMON MEHIGAN QC MEDIATION PROFILE

Simon Mehigan QC is a CEDR accredited mediator, particularly in matters concerning the following areas of law; contract, employment, disciplinary, gambling and fraud. He also advises on all aspects of betting and gaming law with an emphasis on the legality of new products. He also practices in the fields of breach of confidence, restraint of trade and fraud.

Recent and Current Cases of Note include:

• Advising the leading betting exchange, bookmakers, game operators, machine manufacturers, trade associations and lottery providers on the application of the Gambling Act 2005 to their businesses.
• Representing a pharmaceutical company in relation to alleged fraudulent breaches of competition law.
• Advising professional partnerships on hiring new partners/teams.
• Advising in an FSA investigation.

Simon is the author of 3 editions of ‘Mehigan and Griffiths on the law of Restraint of Trade and Business Secrets', editor of the current and previous 13 editions of ‘Paterson's Licensing Acts', is a contributor to the forthcoming edition of ‘Smith and Monkcom on the law of Betting, Gaming and Lotteries' and is consultant editor to the forthcoming edition of the ‘Gambling Law volume of Halsbury's Laws'.
