			<description>Denis Edwards acted as junior counsel for the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in resisting the Claimant's appeal.&amp;nbsp; The Court of Appeal decided that an unemployed EU citizen who was previously a self-employed person in the UK does not retain that status or the status of a worker under Article 7(3) of Directive 2004/38/EC so as to be entitled to claim social security benefits in the UK.&amp;nbsp; This is one of the first cases decided by the UK courts on the meaning of Article 7 of the Residence Directive.</description>
