HINKLEY POINT C: APPLICATION ACCEPTED

EDF Energy's application for a Development Consent Order for its proposed new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C in Somerset has been accepted for examination by the Infrastructure Planning Commission in accordance with section 55 of the Planning Act 2008.  It is now in the pre-examination stage, and those who are interested in the proposal have until 23 January 2012 to register with the IPC as an interested party by making a relevant representation.
