CPO FOR ROAD CONFIRMED UNDER PLANNING POWERS

On 1 September 2011, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government confirmed the London Borough of Sutton Orchard Hill Access Land CPO 2010 following a public inquiry.

The Order secures access to a proposed new school at Orchard Hill as part of  a wider regeneration programme for the area.  Planning powers under section 226(1)(a) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 were used in preference to powers under the Highways Act 1980.
