"THE LAW OF COMPULSORY PURCHASE" - SECOND EDITION PUBLISHED
The Second Edition of "The Law of Compulsory Purchase" by Guy Roots QC, Michael Humphries QC, Robert Fookes and James Pereira has just been published by Bloomsbury Professional. It is a single bound volume covering the powers and mechanisms of compulsory purchase and the assessment of compensation. It also covers the assessment of compensation where the actions of bodies authorised by statute cause loss even where no land had been taken.
The First Edition was published by Tottel in 2008 based upon the text the two volume looseleaf "Compulsory Purchase and Compensation Service" originally published by Butterworths and then by Tottel who are now part of Bloomsbury Professional. It is highly regarded as a succinct but authoritative guide to the law in this complex subject. The format of the Second Edition remains the same but the text has been updated to reflect various changes in the law and practice since 2008. The two volume looseleaf continues to be available and is updated twice a year.
