WESTMINSTER CITY COUNCIL SUCCESSFULLY OBTAINS INJUNCTION AGAINST "LORD" DAVENPORT

Westminster City Council were granted an injunction by the High Court preventing Edward Davenport from using his Mayfair property in Portland Place for any non residential purposes including commercial parties tango or pole-dancing lessons, parties, photoshoots and  filming.

The property has been used for a range of non residential purposes over an extended period since Edward Davenport purchased the property in 2001.  The breaches of planning control have continued despite the issue of an enforcement notice by Westminster City Council in 2006.

The judge acceded to the request for an injunction "given the extensive history of Mr Davenport's successful attempts to exploit his ownership of 33 Portland Place in relation to making money commercially."

The court also granted an injunction against "persons unknown" preventing anyone from using the property for non residential purposes.

The injunction will continue until trial or further order.
