FTB SADDENED BY DEATH OF LORD KINGSLAND QC

The Chambers of Robin Purchas QC are deeply saddened by the death of Lord Kingsland QC.

Lord Kingsland  joined  Chambers (then 2 Harcourt Buildings) in 2002, and practised in the areas of environmental law including planning, compulsory purchase, utility regulation, human rights, energy, waste and competition law.

As well as continuing as a Crown Court Judge, Conservative peer Lord Kingsland was also the opposition spokesman on constitutional and legal affairs and a former Shadow Lord Chancellor.

He was elected the MEP for Shropshire and Stafford in 1979 and was a Tory chief whip in the European parliament during the 1980s.

A QC, he attended both Manchester University and The Queen's College, Oxford and was appointed to the House of Lords in 1994.

He will be greatly missed by members and staff of the Chambers of Robin Purchas QC.
