COMPENSATION CASE - SUCCESSFUL MEDIATION
Chiu v Waverley Commercial Ltd & Amptill Town Council (in the Lands Tribunal). The Claimant sought compensation under Section 237 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 arising from interference with a right of access and parking as a result of a redevelopment scheme. The parties agreed to seek to settle the claim by mediation. The mediation was successful.
The Mediator was Craig Howell Williams QC. The Claimant was represented by Philip Petchey (instructed by Kimbells solicitors) and the compensating authorities by Richard Glover QC (instructed by Williams and Co solicitors).
