BRISTOL PORT HARBOUR REVISION ORDER CONFIRMED
On 25 March 2010, the Secretary of State for Transport granted the application for the Port of Bristol (Deep Sea Container Terminal) Harbour Revision Order. The £500 million proposed scheme at Avonmouth is to be built partly on reclaimed land in the Severn Estuary and will enable the Port to take some of the world's largest container vessels. The increase in capacity will mean the Port will be able to handle 1.5 million container units a year enabling it to serve regions outside the South West, such as the West Midlands, more effectively.
Andrew Newcombe QC and James Neill acted for the Port of Bristol during the HRO application process, instructed by Lawrence Graham LLP.
